A clinical breast exam (CBE) is a physical examination of the breast by a healthcare professional. This exam helps to identify any lumps or abnormalities in the breast and may find other breast problems that need treatment.
HOW TO PREPARE
Before your CBE, inform your clinician about:
- Any changes or lumps in your breast. This includes any change in the nipple, such as discharge.
- Pain in your breast, especially if the pain is not related to your menstrual cycle.
- Possibility of pregnancy
- Breast implants
- Hormone replacement therapy
- Previous breast biopsy
- Menopausal status
